We traveled east on the trailing edge of several storms which caused flooding and tree damage. We had to cross through a flooded stream at one point and then a few miles later we encountered a large tree which had come down across the road and taken down a phone line with it to within about 3 feet of the ground. We pulled the bikes under downed down line and took shelter in a machine shop which was near by while another large lighting storm passed through with heavy rain.
We camped in Eastern West Virginia along the Williams river at campsite 10. One of these spiders got into Scott’s tent and was crawling around on him until he swatted it and realized it felt big so he turned the light on and killed it. This one must be its friend – it hung around the tent all night.
